Twilight

Wow is all I can say. This series is all about teenagers, love, romance, youth, and vampires! How could a woman of my age be sucked (no pun intended) into this stuff??!!

Book one, Twilight, was so powerfully compelling that I read it in 8 interrupted hours. How can a mom, wife, coworker do this you might ask...I don't know how to answer that. Haha. I do know that the story is sweet. Bella decides to forsake herself to give her mom happiness and the freedom to be with her new husband. She moves to a small town called Forks and makes quite an impression on all of the "country" boys. Especially the very beautfiul and gifted Edward, who has NEVER given attention to any girl. Bella is like most of us, down on herself and up on everyone else. After saving Bella from a car crushing her, Edward gives in to his drawl for her and decides to make himself available for her whenever she's ready. And of course he's always protecting her! How romantic. From street thugs about to abuse her, to vans crushing her...all the way to destroying another vampire who's trying to kill her. Never seen that one coming now did you?!? Haha.

Book Two, New Moon, gets your blood pumping again. Edward is totally devoted to Bella and during a simple opening of birthday presents, Bella injures herself and it sends the vampire family into a frenzy to protect her, yet desires for her blood are just as strong. Edward broods for days and decides to push her away, hurt her, and leave her. They all left. No remnants of their lives left to be seen. Except her complete and total breakdown into a dark depression. After months, she eventually starts talking to her BFF Jacob. But suddenly he's a wolf! Yah, complete Sci-Fi, I know. She struggles, but gets it. During all of it, a family friend dies and the vampire family is led to believe it's Bella who's died by jumping off of a cliff. (She was doing it as an extreme sport to hear the voice of Edward warning her to stop...long story there.) So Edward tries to confirm this detail but in all the confusion is still led to believe it's Bella that's dead. So he goes to Italy to a very large coven to be killed. So of course Bella is called to save him. And she does. And they are happily together again. He also says he'll "change her" if she marries him...but he knows she won't say yes.

Book Three, Eclipse. Wow. Almost done with it, but it's getting intense. During all the Book One fighting, James was killed leaving behind his love, Victoria. Who has plotted revenge on Bella ever since. And Jacob (the wolf family) is going to hook up with Edward (the vampire family) to kill whoever is going after Bella.

So um, am I stupid or what? Wolves, Vampires, and love...is it really possible? No. But is it fun to pretend? OF COURSE!

Tonight I'm taking my 16yr old to see the movie too. YA!!!!! I can't WAIT to see this movie!
